"International" events

Does anyone have a decent explanation for why Masters and Champions are called "International" events but the regional leagues arent? Every league besides China is composed by multiple countries which is the literal definiton of international and 2 of then are even INTERCONTINENTAL like APAC and EMEA.

I mean why arent they called just "global" events makes much more sense

Global Esports ruined the word global

Because they were to an extent regional in 2021 and 2022 and we didn't feel like changing it for franchising for some reason

Officially they are called global events but i guess international is just what stuck
