Lol what a lame excuse. Japan has never been good at PC eSports. Just admit it. I mean when console gaming dominates like in Japan it's inevitable that PC eSports scene won't be that good. At least it's developing in recent years with apex and valo.

Bruh you guys have the capability still. Don't now act like Japan is suddenly not even as good as sea countries. There is literally so much money and sponsors still for japanese eSports scene. But I will say cause of no foundation it will still take some time for Japan to catch up.

Bro is so wrong about the economy thing. Problem with Japan is just the console gaming popularity over PC gaming for so long. Unlike Korea or even china where PC gaming took off a long time ago, the PC gaming scene in Japan has been growing for a very short time which is why Japan is so weak at PC eSports scene. Even then only valo and apex have been popular there and only now is foundation for the eSports scene growing there.

But recently there is pc bang/pc gaming cafe in Tokyo right? like, hangout esports area, RED° TOKYO TOWER and 2nd floor CR gaming space(if i'm not mistaken) and rage cafe harajuku

I'm curious about the second part of your comment. What else is needed for your foundation? They have money for academies and training facilities, and geographic location for Chinese and Korean scrim partners. Couldn't ask much more than that

PC gaming in Japan needs to be mainstream for quite some time, look at China and Korea, they have been playing PC games since the concept even exists, while in Japan at that time PC games are mainly Hentai games and Love simulator. This needs time, meaning the PC gaming needs to have a hold in Japan and not just become a fad ( only exists for 5 years then everyone back to console).
Playerbase itself, currently Valorant is just a "spectator sports" in Japan, this is great meaning there's an incentive for the region to improve, since the demand is there, but the playerbase are lacking. Talent only comes from the playerbase, when your player base is small meaning there's less talent to pick up, academy team can help relieve this issue, but ultimately there needs to be a larger playerbase.

Essentialy PC gaming culture needs to take root. It will take time, it took Korea from Cs 1.6 to pubg or overwatch to be great (Idk how accurate when exactly their fps become good but it's not that they're) and China too. Expecting Japan to do good in 4 years timespan is crazy if imma be honest, which is why my whole point when I'm speaking about VCJ is about how to make the region better.

As a EU guy who has worked in JP for more than 2 years, I can assure you that everything is just starting for the JP scene.
There are a lot of talent which gets more and more experience and understanding of the 5x5 tactical FPS like VALORANT.
Not having a solid CS scene hurts them obviously, so the teamplay experience in many different aspects is just building.
Most of the things that set the level in VALORANT came from the CS experience and you need time to develop this in Japan.
Things take time and we already see that year's competition level is rising. I think that the JP scene will be very solid in the upcoming years.

Obviously the trio from RIDDLE and other players from ZETA AC. All of them are just starting and already have some very decent experience.
In Challengers Absol was a beast for Murash. Nobita from SG had such a great season. Hands from FAV is so good and it's sad they did not qualify for this year's challengers, I think they are a very decent team. RC's Brian is very good as well, as far as I understand it was one of his first serious teams and he came out of their AC. Muto was very good for the RC also. Tenzou from SZ is very good as well. RIA has great potential, he helped us a lot last year and I hope he'll get his chance.

When we had an AC in FENNEL in the past, we had some players with good potential. BinBin is probably the guy I remember the most. SG's AC had some good prospects as well.
I'm sure there are a lot more and I'm missing someone.

FAV also promoted Fukuken who looks nuts and the 3rd split helps to add a lot of upcoming and unknown talents, i feel like every region having a 3rd split is going to help the type of VCLs that have a big playerbase and give a chance to ranked demons even more

For an upcoming region, the problem isnt the talent but the foundation itself and it would be the hardest challenge for new region.
I mean look at Zeta and DFM, prolly the best example of JP org mismanagement.
