why are there no close maps? seems like every team just has their maps that their better at and there's no real competition

Depends on the region. In Pacific, for example, every game so far has been a 2-0, most of the time pretty one-sided. EMEA, on the other hand, needed to use the rulebook to decide tiebreakers for both groups
