State of tier 2 in Valorant Esports

Acend is leaving Valorant. Seriously, the only organization from Europe that has ever lifted the Champions trophy? Riot, doesn't this tell you anything, what a dogsh*t system you've made? Just look at VCL East: More organizations are leaving than coming, this will happen in other regions too if you don't do anything about it, still doesn't that mean anything to you? Riot is destroying its own game, esports enviroment and community by putting almost all its money into tier 1, where tier 2 lies and whimpers.

Painfully, fvck you, Riot.

rit0 back at it, we should’ve had OPTC in franchising too

Riot destroyed the best rivalry in their esport just because they wanted to. Leo Farinha is the worst

T2 is very hard for orgs to invest in. Odds are very low of getting into the T1 league, and for now T2 has very low viewership so orgs just light more money on fire for even less gain than usual.

So what's the problem for Riot to do a similar promotion to the one they have on VCT? Maybe some team based card capsules for Ascension/VCL, maybe some drops for watching the tournament. Maybe a special Esports tab in the game client, like Champions or Masters, so that every fucking viewer could learn a bit. What if they invested 10% more in tier 2 than before?

I'm not going to pretend like I know what I'm talking about so yeah your idea could work. What I do know is either a majority of orgs will leave T2 or Riot will find a way to make orgs want to be in T2.

but we have orgs like BBL KOI in T1 who cant build a good roster in 3 years time

I mean BBL is good, but they've got bad coach for now, in year or two they'll be one of the best, trust me.
I can't say the same about KOI, their management is dogsh*t

When KOI entered franchising they were with Rogue, the fusion went sideways and thats why they lost the first year basically. For the second one they carried on the stupid contracts from before and tried to do something with what they had.
This is their true year, for those who say their management is dogshit, think before you speak, KOI IS stable in every other game. The valorant project was a screw up but thats It.
Also KOI has one of the best content in the whole VCTs

they should just relegate the 2 worst teams from each league every year.

In my opinion, this is a very good idea, instead of constantly ruining teams that made it to T1 with difficulty

But then it is not Franchising anymore, the whole point of franchising is that you own the slot and no one can take it from you

#15

But then it is not a franchised league anymore, franchising as a whole prevents relegation. Problem is that franchising in NBA/NFL/MLB/NHL works cuz of drafts and multi men rosters , meanwhile in val you have 5 players, maybe 6, but there is no constant rotation

so would adding more orgs into Tier 1 be better?

Then you have the dilemma. Too few teams but a lot of players

#24

there is/would be excess amount of players anyway even with the current number of teams.

that's why I like open circuit, it simply regulates itself

Riot simply wanted Orgs that are sustainable.

The fact that Acend is literally unsustainable, thus leaving Tier 2, proves Riot's point of not accepting that dogshit Org.

and mibr, who is funneling rit0's money into cs roster, or ge, who has plainly been dogshit for 2 years, with a declining fanbase, are stable?
