Does anyone have any idea how they went from first place in kick off to doing dogshit for the rest of the year?
i do hate the french and KC but it seems crazy that they just stopped winning randomly.

KC did really well cause they were the worst team last season. Meaning out of all the teams they had the earliest and longest off season to straight cook up strats. But at a certain point (after madrid) they ran out of strats and they just didn’t have the same amount of time to cook up more and fresh new strats.
2024 KC on paper isn’t dogshit, we’ve seen them dominate EMEA before. It’s just that the format wasn’t very kind to them considering they are a macro heavy team. With the very short breaks between matches and internationals, and then the constant changing of agent metas and map pools they didn’t have the time to keep up.
After kickoff I think it was zeish who said despite dominating emea they hadn’t even shown 20% of their strats, and during the off season they would practice protocols for every single situation and team by remaking 2v2, 3v3 situations in customs. It sucks they fell off during the second half but had the vct season not been so packed together i think they would’ve done a lot better
In the end everyone did have the same amount of time to prepare though. I do agree that the schedule is overly packed and that Champs should probably take place around now or in a few weeks. (it probably doesnt because of LoL worlds that should go on during oct and nov)
i don't like KC anyways but i did enjoy that there was some competition regionally. Last year i kind of got bored of watching fnc since they dominated most teams regionally. So i'm glad it at least exciting to watch the matches again.
sorry i should’ve clarified my wording. My point is that KC unlike most teams was a strat and macro heavy team that needed time to come up with fresh new stuff. With that being the case, having an entire off season before split 1 allowed them to play their strength. After madrid they couldn’t because the length of off time was no where near the same. I understand in the end everyone had the same time to prepare but my point is KC is a special case that would’ve preformed better had they had more time. Other teams were not as protocol heavy.
And agreed, KC and TH dominance in the first half was a nice refresher. Everyone was getting sick of emea being considered a 1 team region. FuT and VIT were also very pleasant surprises. Hopefully with Derke leaving and all the free talent from ascension, some new king of emea will appear
I get that, I just expected them to do more at Madrid since they did so well. Since theirs strats should have lasted at least that long. I was hoping for them to make it to play offs (again i hate kc but that's just cuz i hate the french. Not the players per se.) I hope they come back stronger, they shoukld at least try to put a team together that can function at a MID level without too many strats. That way they can use the strats they make more sparingly and not run out of them as quickly.
I kind of would like it if Derke goes to VIT so Sayf can play the role he wanted, although sayf is a better duelist then senti. I do still want FNC to win but i'd be okay with 2 kings of Emea or maybe 3. Like the early days when TL and Navi were better.
