I know they fell apart due to money issues for players but i thought they simply refused to raise the salaries of players. but from the players they got for the year it looks like they could only afford lesser known / not as trending players. Supamen and Apoth arent exactly expensive people i have to assume

Yea so they had to go budget cuz EG was having financial troubles plus they got sued for a sizeable sum (which has since been lost by the pro) by an ex Dota-2 pakistani prodigy for Breach of contract shit treatment and what not. IDK the ins and outs of it but the culture at EG has always been volatile. However that was a 2 year legal battle which was an expensive trial in general. Practically they mistreated and took advantage of the fact the player was young and considering how they treated the val team after they won it wouldn't be crazy to think they did the same to him multiple times but there was a lack of evidence. Anyways long story short. Shit financials + massive legal battle = no money + lesser known players
