Imports to CN concerns

Due to the speed of in which CN orgs are signing imports, I'm afraid that other orgs are starting to pick up the signal and places a longer contract on their players on hopes that CN orgs will pick them up..

Normally it should just be another roster moves just as usual, but the key is when the rostermoves happens. Doing them close to ascension gives orgs an incentive to hold them till this time and possibly raises the buyout clause too since this is cn orgs we're talking about..

Are my concerns valid? Or I'm just paranoid 😂?

Increase chinese demands-> increase buyout clause-> harder for t1 orgs to make roster moves.

I'm assuming we are talking about tier 2

Just look at how many imports each CN ascension team has 😭

They import a lot tbh, there are 8 orgs in Tier 1 that have imports. In ascension there are 5.

honestly if it means that the orgs have more money to buyout better local players I don't see the issue
also there's a limited number of imports possible so I think its fine

My concern is tier 1 orgs won't be able to get these players if the buyout clause goes too high.

I mean its a case of supply and demand, if no one buys them out they will lower the price, just as EG seemingly did at the end of 2023

" Quick!! Someone run the simulation!!"

Lol i need to know how rich are these Chinese orgs first to see whether they will accept the high buyout clause.

If they accept, t1 orgs are fucked.
If they don't, t1 orgs are safe.

I think its fine either way ngl

think of it this way, ill set out an example

  1. C9 buy out a cheap t2 player for a season, show he's pretty good
  2. Rich CN teams come along willing to buy that player for a good amount of money
  3. C9 sell the player, and with the money they just received, they buy 2 more players from tier 2 who can now be developed and given experience
  4. repeat

now apply that to the overall scene and I think you sort of have a healthy ecosystem
But again as I touched on above, there's a limit to how much CN teams will pay and to the number of imports, so a team can't just become an effective academy team for china

Everyone will be brighton and Chinese orgs will city and united if this happens 😂. But yeah I think there are limits to what they can do but it's not that clear yet where the lines are drawn.

Feels more likely that Chinese orgs will just go for more affordable players then. Not all of them have the money to sign a prospect on the level of B1SK or Freeing

Idk about B1sk but I think Freeing was FA at the time(?) , which is a mistake by DK for not holding him.( there maybe a chance that holding freeing will deter chinese orgs to sign him). Next year I don't think any orgs including DK want to create the same mistake.

Fair point, B1SK seems to still be signed by KPI so he's likely on some sort of loan to ZY for this tournament. This seems like a better option anyways for a team going for the short term second import buff for ascension anyways.

Yeah I think loaning is a better option in this case.
