What cut off do I need to get into one? And what are the courses they teach there? I have a friend doing data sciences there.
I GOT offer from iiser behrampur this year, fcked my mains, iisers are for research only. If you want to become a researcher i.e.. join some foreign PhD program only then join, otherwise don't and yes bio is important if aiming top iiser,
got waitlisted 20 in niser
not traditional placement bullcrap you become scientist !
Do not aim for IISER for jobs. Try them if you are interested in pure sciences (Like Astrophysics or molecular biology).
Most of them either go for an MSc in IITs/IISc in India or MS abroad.
Opportunities wise it is good, I would say it has a better research environment than IITs.
However expect to do atleast an MS and an PhD before you have any sort of decent earning potential. This could easily mean around 8-10 years of studies.
