defusing spike

i think that riot should look into making it so that at least for pro play, no one has to defuse if it's the winning round. it delays the excitement for a player and if a player is too focused on the fact that they won they could forget to defuse. this would both ruin the players game, as well as the casters. they could have delivered the final call and then the winning team loses the round. smoggy had to wait to defuse the spike look here before celebrating with nobody and his team. i understand if there's a possibility of it being .01 or something, but idk i think it's kinda stupid that someone has to stick behind to defuse

surely there's information in the game that decides when there is time to defuse or not, right?

if you reference the m3c vs fnc game on split, if this feature were in place m3c would've won i think bc wasn't it due to a defuse bug or smth that the player got off?

human error could happen, it makes it harder to save guns (defuse half and save), its complicated to program when a round it actually won, for example take round 12-11, everyone was dead kk had enough hp to defuse but not enough time to get on, everyone else had enough time to get on but not enough hp to defuse, coding that would be a nightmare, makes certain defuses much more anti climatic etc

it makes it harder to save guns

i meant only for map winning rounds.

everyone was dead kk had enough hp to defuse but not enough time to get on, everyone else had enough time to get on but not enough hp to defuse, coding that would be a nightmare

this brings up a good point which i didnt think about. my solution to this is one of the observers/admins has a button that they can press which ends the round. i know that this is now stupidly hard, but hear me out. i remember there being like a truck with all the observers in it(this was from Reykjavik 2021) and there was one guy that was the lead telling everyone what camera to be on. what if they got that button, and either a player defuses, or the admin can forcefully end the match with the button

makes certain defuses much more anti climatic etc

defusing the spike at the end of a gf is anti climactic imo

obviously my idea has a lot of things to work out, but do you not agree that there's so much room for error as it is now?

Imagine a GF of a LAN and the bomb comes down to the wire. It would ruin all suspense. All it's not that big of a deal. Who cares about celebrating earlier. You either celebrate or go home.

I just reread it.

If its the game winning round i think they could implement something like, you only need to start the defuse to win the match.

That way you could just tap, and if there is time to defuse, it will be done for you and you can celebrate.

But only for Map winning rounds

yeah that's a better solution. i just find it a bit ridiculous that this hasn't been implemented and that there's too much risk of a player forgetting to defuse and ruining everything

If you forget to defuse after thousands of hours of playing Valorant then do you really deserve to win?

Nah if there's a setting players will still set it as hold. Switch makes the reaction slower

it's not me i care about, it's the players who have to wait to celebrate. they should all be able to celebrate without a delay
