Harbor Viper was mainly cool because Harbor's fun to watch, honestly. But then people got sick of Skye, so she got nerfed to the ground. We thought we'd see less Viper as a result but it was actually Harbor's pickrate that tanked; Viper went up to like 80%. Then we realized how insufferable watching Viper nonstop on every map is, so she got nerfed to the ground as well. Now we're watching Omen on every map but I don't think anyone cares because people just like Omen so darn much. And then we also got Clove who's getting more play than not only Harbor but also Brimstone and Astra, even though she literally has one piece of util that ever gets used, which is literally just a worse Omen smoke.

That was quite the little rant I just went on but my point is: Viper on every map is boring, Omen on every map is boring, and we really need to balance the controllers so that they all see equalish amounts of play (except Clove I hate Clove she sucks)

Me too, man. Me too. I actually have several in mind. I'd put them in my "I'm gonna try to balance every controller" thread (that's the one I'm doing next) but it has to be realistic and I can't just buff him all over (I might do it anyway)

Ways you could fix him (in my opinion, not fact)

More cove health, make it stronger as a stick bomb threat. Could be broken though
Please stop his wall slowing team
Make his wall slower to cast if holding RMB (?) and make it so it doesn’t show the trail before it comes up
Make his push walls last a little longer, they’re a little weak right now
More distance covered, more time up, and/or shorter cooldown on his E wall
Ult change (maybe faster time to stun, breach ult basically instastuns unlike harbor)

Just my opinions and not all are necessarily good changes

Those are great ideas. What I had in mind was:

  • Making the wall cooldown 30 seconds to match Omen/Clove (would do the same thing with Astra smoke btw)
  • Make the line the wall makes on the ground when you're casting it hidden to the enemy team
  • Increase Cascade duration after getting stopped from 7 to 10 seconds
  • Increase Cove health from 500 to 600, reduce the cost from 300 to 350, and keep the smoke up as a normal smoke for full duration once the shield is broken
  • Increase the number of stuns from 3 to 4 and change the windup from 1.35 to 1 second

I feel like that's too much though lol

Yeah has to be in moderation but these changes seem good. The line on the ground is so dumb, he’s already a bad agent. I think focusing on the first couple (normal util) would be best

Maybe something close with like:

  • Wall cooldown to 30 seconds
  • Hide wall line to (everyone that isn’t harbour? its kinda just visual clutter)
  • Cascade could change in duration depending on how fast it’s stopped, like skye flash. From say, 7 seconds if instantly stopped to 10 seconds if let to push the whole way (could be random and unneeded though, flat 10 would be fine)
  • Cove health up to 600 (probably OR rather than and) cove cost down to 300, normal smoke staying for 8 seconds seems good.
  • Util no longer slows team

I think Harbor ult is the most viable bit of his kit right now, it would only need changes if they want to leave his other util the same

DUDE HOW DID I FORGET THE TEAM SLOW.
No I desperately need the team slow removed. One time I walled off Abyss B and one of my teammates was ratting on Danger. He realizes he's in trouble, turns to jump back, gets SLOWED BY MY WALL, and falls off the map. We lost the round.

Omen just makes more sense because of the meta comps rn
His flash/one-way potential is super vital for teams rn (take lotus for example)
Doesn't mean she can't be EXTREMELY effective in the right hands/comp/map though,
Take 100t's split for example
