How exactly do the T2 teams move into T1? The T2 playoffs are currently happening, but does the winner end up playing in Champs?

(And yes I'm aware the easy answer is nepotism, definitely not looking at MIBR)

They have ascension which is a tournament after champs to promote them into T1. Teams need to qualify from playoffs in their own region I believe and then they go to ascension and the top team gets promoted into T1.

to actually explain it:
Every region (North America, Hong Kong, Oceania, France, turkey, Brazil, etc.) has their own challengers league with 6-12 teams in each league. most leagues have 2 splits spread across the year with a promotion/relegation tournament between each split. At the end of split 2, the best 1/2 teams (depending on region ( 1st for pacific regions, 1/2 for Americas regions, and 1/2* (2nd placed team gets sent to a play/in tournament) for EMEA)) go to a LAN with all other #1 teams in their region. After this tournament (which is the Ascension tournament) the winner gets to join the International Leagues as the 12th team
Oxygen (OXG) is in the North America region of the Americas VCL, OXG can win ascension and get promoted to the Americas League, or individual players can be bought/loaned to International League teams
