huh
tldr I found on reddit:
A group of Turkish MMO players decide to look at recent twitch leaks to dig up dirt on streamers who are on opposing factions. They notice absurdly high bit donations on very small streamers. After sharing what they found people start investigating and discover that credit card scammers are using the cards they stole to send bit to these streamers and make them send them back through bitcoin(minus their share), basically money laundering. Also there are rumours that some of these streamers are threatening people who call them out with legal action and other things.
No fckng way cNed is on the list

apparently it was offered to a huge amount of streamers and were convinced that it was easy money that won't be of a problem in the future so most of them agreed without even thinking about the consequences for example deepmans who was 15 or younger at the time some of the known players talked about it like russz from SMB he said that he was offered a deal when he entered bbl but he refused.
ultimately nothing happened on twitch's part but if riot gets involved a big amount of turkish pros will be punished
actually not, do u think americans that did match fixing to get skins did it bcz they need money ?????
yeah that's exactly why they did it. They were not receiving a salary from ibuypower and that's what motivated them towards crime: https://www.hltv.org/forums/threads/1452091/ibp-wasnt-that-good#r20985038
Look, I'm not saying that any of this is right, I'm just stating the factors that might have led them to making those sort of decisions
Did not say that they are not innocent, just stating that it's a bit too much to expect virtue and righteousness from those involved in current economic situation. Shit imagine you had a parent who requires prescription medication for heart arrhythmia of which price has increased 15x times in the past 2 years, with salaries not keeping up with inflation at all. The family proceeds to buy the medication because stopping it would mean death, but then there is no money left for food like bread and vegetables. You a 14 year old want to help your family and the only thing you are doing right now is being somewhat into games and twitch, you become aware of this opportunity that could significantly help your parents
and you mean to tell me that "no, I will not do this because it's unethical" when your family basically has to choose between medication or food? lol get the fuck outta here with this shit, of course people would do it, especially when it's fucking silly twitch owned by a megacorporation at the end of the day
Just "democracy basically means - government for the people, of the people, by the people, but the people are retarded..." being at play here. Turkish electorate for some reason decided that Erdogan is a very good guy to run the country for close to two decades now, during which he succeeded in Turkey's political isolation and successfully getting away with nepotism by putting his daughter's husband as a Central Bank governor who caused severe lira's downfall. I guess the electorate does love the dick swinging rhetoric of "turkey world superpower but being kept down by bad usa & co"
