Is it just random the order each team selects opponents?
They'll probably do that thing again where they have a bunch of purple PokéBalls in a bowl and they pick one at random then put their little fridge magnets in different places on the bracket they printed out
They get drawn into the order of who picks first So one team won't get to actually.pick and probably face either geng or lev
