Why aren’t there any Canadian servers?

and i was wondering this since when i duo queue with canadian friends they always have to play with 40-50 ping on illinois servers

Wait 40-50 ping is bad? That's my ping on my lowest servers which is HK2 lmao.

for higher ranks it’s kinda ass since there are so many wide swinging jetts. 20-30 is good. i can’t really be talking since i get like 3 ping on my servers

there a certain amount of registered players required to an area for rito to see interest in setting up a server, also their game is only supports AWS servers rn

they have the nos. , so probably not how much they need, i think they need around 200-300 k

what about like south african servers tho

like if there's a player requirement, it would never be met unless they had a server, as long as there's no server no one's gonna play

Well it’s definitely a less profitable region for riot, that’s for sure, which is probably why they don’t do it.

It’s unfortunate though because you have “EMEA” which supposedly represents Africa except there’s not a single server in Africa

Yep that’s why they don’t do it, they aren’t interested in expanding to markets that won’t waste money on skins etc

the closest server here is bahrain and i get 180ms on that, sometimes the server gets fucked or something and the ping is 400ms then we have to play on london or paris as the second closest at ~230ms until bahrain gets back to being the lowest for us. it sucks playing on these pings x_x

so basically, no server in Africa other than Bahrain which is mostly for the ME?
they should make a server in maybe Ethiopia or South Africa

its like mumbai servers, they didnt make them until there were too many people playing from india, all had to play on 60+ ping on singapore but there was interest with no investment so they made a server

I play in the middle of Ontario and get 19 ping on Illinois servers

Get 36 on illinois but i agree, a Montréal server would be great

because where would they put them, you get good ping in Vancouver and in southern Ontario, where most of the population lives, so I don't see much point for them. Maybe a more central server than texas for better ping in the praires

i get like 19 ms on illinois and like 30-50 on 4 others its pretty good
