Unfair for teams in omega group

Isn't it unfair for the teams in omega group as they have to win 2 games out of 5 to gurantee their spot in playoffs whereas teams in alpha group get 6 matches??
because as we know if a team in omega group fails to win 2 matches then the third slot for playoffs will be given to the 4th position team in alpha group it means its just advantage for the teams in apha group and have more chances compared to omega group

Yep, format is shit. EG can go through with a 2-3 record while a team in group Alpha could get grouped with a 3-2 record. The 2 win rule does help out a little bit, but still not optimal.

it is ... but just think this way ; omega teams had to face stronger teams, so 2 wins against tough teams means they are decent lol...on the other hand, alpha are facing easier teams so they will generally have more wins anyways

Also true, this format would look better if teams that were considered top tier lived up to the expectations, but since teams rn are more leveled the group with teams that were considered the "worst" are benefited. Though teams like FURIA and MIBR would've never made it through regardless of their group. Teams that are performing decently have an easier path to playoffs

fair point...i hope next year they sort the teams based on 2024 rankings and then slot them in different groups so that the average power level remains almost same in both groups

But kru is qualifying by winning against shit team whereas teams like loud and eg are about to get eliminated because they have to play good teams

Ngl, if I had to guess riot prob planned for SEN and NRG to take Spot #1 and Spot #2 in group Alpha and then have C9, G2 and KRU battle for 3rd spot, and to be honest when you look at it like that it doesn't seem like a bad idea. I guess they just didn't account for teams to massively upgrade/downgrade and now the format looks wack as shit lol.

As for the LOUD/EG getting eliminated bc they have to play good teams, I'd argue that's what the 2 win rule is for. If they can't get at least 2 wins out of the 5 teams from group Alpha, then maybe they just don't deserve to go to playoffs, as they probably wouldn't stand a chance against the top 3 from group Alpha and the top 2 of group Omega that DID get to beat the good teams from good Alpha.

kru has not qualified yet...they can go 4-2 and still not make playoffs, thats the thing, all the alpha teams might go 4-2 and the cleaner they beat the "shit" teams, the better they are, right ? thats where map diff/round- diff comes into play ...... now about loud, if they cant beat 2/5 of alpha teams, they are not top6 in americas anyways so it doesnt matter

KRU beat both loud and EG, wtf are you talking about 💀you say EG and Loud are getting eliminated because they faced "good teams" while kru faced "shit teams" meanwhile KRU faced both those teams. do you realize how stupid you sound? and as the guy above me said, if they can't beat 2/6 teams to qualify then they aren't top 6 and shouldn't make playoffs

everything will be remedied when we get to 12 teams per year. ideally 2 ascension teams are active per year.

It is, but the theory behind it is that those 2 wins are supposed to be against much harder team than those 4, that’s why they can’t win shit

Exactly, they would be 2-0, just like everyone is group Alpha, so it doesn't mean much. The standard is different
