The biggest Esports in FPS? Maybe not now, sometime later?
ik im gonna get downvoted by delusional valo fans but no,this game doesnt really have anything that makes it special in any way, only the classics like LoL,dota,cs and starcraft have actually stayed relevant for years after release,i dont see why valorant is so different and special that it will stay alive for long enough when even games like r6s,ow or fortnite couldnt do that
Valorant will have the market from all other FPS (crossfire, point blank .etc) that died, will have the NA competitive market that is dying, eventually BR CS scene will die too. If OW KR dies, we'll have other monsters coming to the game. The only thing that can make valorant not reach the peak we all know can be reached is Valve lauching a new CS.
I see a bunch of people wanting to others FPS games die to Valorant gain popularity and become the top FPS.
What a stupid way of thinking, a health esport world is made of a lot of titles, I hope that we never face a day with just RIOT managing the biggest eSports.
We need CS, OW, R6 and others games to make a heath competition and bring inovation.
Valorant may become the biggest FPS because R6/OW already failed and lost the window to be top 1 and Valve doesn't look too interested in the esport scene of CS, so rn Riot is the only company pumping money and effort in making their game the bigger one.
Yes, Valve is updating their game more frequently, but not enough, it has a lot of bugs (like the water bug, fixed yesterday and it was a problem for 5 years) that they don't fix, they don't advertise the game or talk with the pro scene to see what can be improved.
There's little to no communication with the community. CS will not die, this game is a masterpiece, but it's esport scene is in great danger, the today's system isn't profitable.
They could add teams agents, gloves, weapons idk, and do something to all teams get some money through the game, not only the ones they make to the major.
