What does swiss stage mean? and does someone have any idea when the brackets will be posted?
swiss stage basically means teams face each other. after round 1 1-0 teams face 0-1 teams face. next round 2-0 face 1-1 face...etc i think u get it now
Someone who loses 3 times is eliminated. Honestly hope swiss gets adopted at other tournaments, its a goated format.
nah its a terrible format. just in cs liquid and complexity r facing each other in win or go home granted its bc non updated valve rankings. But in league this year KT got fk bc they literally only faced korean and chinese teams while nrg only beat eu and na teams to get into playoffs
You literally just explained why the American RMR is bad. Valve is using outdated rankings, has nothing to do with swiss.
As for worlds, theres always a comically weak group anyways. If Valorant adopts swiss, it would be better at getting the best teams into playoffs than whatever the fuck group b from Champs 2023 was.
you realize it will never get adopted right? we'd be going from a 20 game group stage to an over 30 game swiss stage they simply dont have the time for this is we arent simulcasting games
thats just how seeding works sometimes dude hate to break it to ya but that can happen in literally any format just look at optic in 2022 1 emea win 2 international finals appearances
this was who KT faced at worlds. first game lose to blg, second game beat damwon, third game beat weibo, 4th game lose bo3 qualification to lng, 5th game beat damwon in bo3 in win or go home match, now in playoffs get rewarded with jdg yea gg
heres was NRG first game destroyed by weibo, second game beat liquid , third game beat mad lions, fourth game beat g2 in bo3 to qualify, playoff time get destroyed by weibo 3-0
what do you want me to tell you this is literally just how random seeding works it quite literally has nothing to do with the format of swiss
thats the literal reason y swiss sucks bc its pure rng for determining matchups
well no what you are describing is random seeding. you can have swiss without random seeding. you're just dumb...
they only do seeding for cs. league did live drawing. pretty sure val will just copy league bc its riot and its impossible to rank the teams
swiss is a tournament format in which teams only play other teams that have the same record as them
what this mean is after the first match teams are divided into team that are 1-0 and teams that are 0-1 this will continue until teams reach the set number of wins at which point they will advance. If a team hits the set number of losses they get elimed
I will add that with 8 teams it wont actually work correctly i forget where exactly it will happen but at some point teams with different records will need to play each other because we simply wont have enough teams but more teams = more time so oh well
It is the most fair way of seeding a bracket that can be realistically implemented. However, it always results in more games meaning devs like riot dont use it because it would just take too long
yeah for the 8 team tournament they wont use it in shang hai or champs prob
I think its equal, those who won the grand final in their groups will play the grand final winner of other group, so no advantage
if it isnt random seeding then they will get an easier first match. If it is random seeding then the GF of kickoff was entirely pointless for all teams
that's fine your opinion is predicated on fundamentally wrong facts, lack of an understanding of the basic meanings of words, and a complete lack of understanding of how tournament brackets work there's no convincing someone who is talking out of their ass. Good to see you concede though keep on runnin
