Would be cool if they did another event like it, we could see teams that usually don't go to internation events play against other teams from different regions. Thoughts? Myabe make it double elimination instead too, but that could make the event too long.

I thought lock in was cool. I know people hate it for it being a single elim, but I think that just adds more to the suspense and fun of it. Every game is a life game and you have to give your all to every single game to win

Problem is there's now 40 partnered teams, and 44 teams total in the leagues, which will go up to at 56 total in 2027. With 30 teams + 2 wild cards it was doable. With 56, you probably need to invite 8 extra teams and do 64 teams single elim, but that's a very big amount of hotel rooms, visas, etc, and would also double the amount of matches played in the tournament, even if you stick to single elim.

Lock//in was definitely a fun tourney to watch but I don't think it can happen again

Yeah I guess you are right about that, the cost for it would probably be too much, but if RIOT does deicide to do it again then it would be very entertaining

I thought ascension teams lose their slot after 2 years. So I don’t think it would be 56 teams in 2027

Yeah but then 2 teams are gonna be promoted. In the very big announcement at the end of 2022, Riot did say that the leagues were gonna expand until there are 14 teams per league. I'm gonna see if i can find the article

It's entertaining though, KC put up a fight against LOUD who would have thought that would happen, it's just entertaining to see cause anything can happen in valorant a bad team could beat a really good team

This would never work in practice. lock in will always be remembered as a one time thing, unless riot changes everything in 2027 and it can be recreated.
