Elmapuddy previously coached Gen.G's CS:GO team in late 2019 and into early 2020, and was eventually acquired by Cloud9. A few months later, Cloud9 announced that they would be leaving CS:GO, leaving Elmapuddy teamless. In May he announced that his contract term with Cloud9 had concluded and that he was looking for new options in CS:GO and Valorant.

He now reunites with Kenneth "koosta" Suen, who he coached during his tenures with Cloud9 and Gen.G in late 2019 and early 2020.

Gen.G have been without a coach since Matthew "mCe" Elmore parted ways with the organization at the beginning of last month, and have not been seen in tournament since Stage 3 Challengers 2, where they finished the stage in 5th-6th place.

Thanks to their performances during the past year, Gen.G have secured a spot in the North America Last Chance Qualifier, which will determine who will be the region's second representative at Valorant Champions alongside Sentinels and Envy.

Ater benching Michael "MkaeL" De Luca earlier this month, Gen.G recently announced Nolan "Temperature" Pepper will be playing the Last Chance Qualifier for them on loan from Evil Geniuses Evil Geniuses North America Rank #21 Derrek Derrek Ha NaturE Nicholas Garrison supamen Phat Le icy Jacob Lange yay Jaccob Whiteaker .
