First off, DRX never even had a downfall, the worst they did was place 7-8th. Secondly, it's most likely a mental thing, because they play insane until they get a match into the main bracket, and then things always fall apart. It's just a little weird how often that happens, like as if they lose confidence or something.
if you actually watched drx and their plays, they defo had a downward spiral looking at their expectations and level. 3rd in champs 2022, 3rd in lock//in, but since messing up starting 5 and stax acknowledging it during an interview + they had multiple comebacks during the season including 2-10 comeback vs blg in playoffs. + they lost to Fnatic and EG in champs. Like the interview from stax, he really wasn't a fan of changing the starting five which really caused the confusion + termi's map selection troll
The roster change obviously didn't help, but even when they reverted back to the same starting five, they fell short again. And tbh, idc how good FNC or EG were, for a team of DRX's caliber, those games are winnable. They always crumble in the big games, a 2-10 comeback against a new team in VCT won't change that fact.

well you should, because drx was well below their form starting from the latter stages of pacific and until masters. Champions they got their form back a little but was still shaky and you expect them to beat EG and FNC with that? They got read in every buy round vs EG and it was too obv against FNC that they just countered their strat. its actually insane to talk about their mental cos the players said its not the mental and here you are saying that it is.
The EG game was pretty tough tbf, but that FNC game was 100% winnable, and even if in this particular game it was more a strats thing, DRX still has a history of choking in big games. There have been like 4 times when DRX gets two or three matches into playoffs, and in that game has a one-map lead, but gets reverse swept. They have to improve their mental if they want to win, but it is probably getting better if champions 2022 and lock//in are any indication.
