According to a trusted anonymous source, Jaccob "Yay" Whiteaker was spotted last night, at his hotel room in Seoul, crying.
To his side, there was reportedly several bottles of whiskey and, among them, worn-down picture frames with photos of his former teammates on OpTic Gaming, the roster that had notably won Masters Reykjavik last year.
Our source claims: "He wasn't wailing by any means. If anything, he was crying pretty quietly actually. Every now and then, I would hear him snivel and mutter, in a weak voice, 'What went wrong... Pujan-san?'"
Our source then claims that as as he said this, he would see Yay repeatedly trace his fingers across the face of Pujan "FNS" Mehta on one particular picture frame
Pujan "FNS" Mehta is the former IGL of the previously-mentioned OpTic Gaming roster that Jaccob "Yay" Whiteaker was a part of. He is credited, alongside Head Coach Chet "chet" Singh as the mastermind behind the team's many successful runs in 2022. With the introduction of the Riot Partnership system in early 2023, the entire team was tragically split and picked apart by several different orgs. Yay would get signed by Cloud9 while FNS would group up with former OpTic gaming players Austin "crashies" Roberts and Victor "Victor" Wong at NRG Esports
After a while of repeated crying, Yay apparently added to his mutterings, but could not be heard over the sound of his room door opening. Spotted at the doorframe, although there is no secondary confirmation of this, was supposedly former PRX player Benkai, in a maid dress.
Our source wanted to get the full scoop, but they unfortunately had to withdraw following multiple close-calls with getting discovered (as a result of several coughing fits). As of the time of writing, they are are currently being treated at an undisclosed hospital for asbestos exposure.
We will update you with any further developments to this story.
