i have been an optic/NV fanboy since the days of NV Food's Pheonix on Haven, but please someone remind me what Victor brings other than vibes that someone else cannot bring? NA has people like Zekken who do exactly what he does, but better on a skill perspective, and exact same thing with Zellsis. The best part of that whole OPTIC 2022 was literally 1. El Diablo being GOD, 2. Marved becoming a DEMON whenever he needed to, and 3. FNS's calling to allow his team to be set up. The greatest part of OPTIC (in the eyes of a casual viewer) wasn't either Crashies or Victor, so why are we expecting them to replicate that same success?
optic would not have worked at all without victor. Victor played agents like neon and phoenix to just suicide run into site to make space for yay who can then hold down that space, but if victor isnt there then optic would have had a LOT of problems getting into site and just making their strats work in general. He's genuienly goated at making space. Victor was one of if not THE player to bring neon out to super high levels of play. Victor right now also covers a lot of roles. From duelist to initiator to sentinel he is like budget forsaken for nrg to allow a lot of others on their roles. hell he even played viper once. Zekken is great, but victor has slightly more flexibility with being able to play all the duelists bar reyna and yoru, kayo, skye (although that's more crashies' agent nowadays) and KJ.
Crashies im having a bit more of a hard time defending atm as this year he doesnt seem to be having as much impact as last year, but he's still a top NA possibly world lvl initiator and was very good at clutching in 2022. He can still clutch but doesnt seem to be as good at it as before. I think crashies also helps fns with some midround calls if im not mistaken so that's important too.
He brings an unselfish entry and can flex onto any agent and play it well. zekken is a great entry but he only flexes onto initiator and nrg do not need that at all. Also last i checked when has zellsis ever been to an international lan besides brazil and reykavik 2021, which are both mickey mouse. Last i checked victor was higher rated in the americas. He was also there second best player at masters tokyo and the only player that could shoot back during champions while fns's brain was short circuiting because whzy was running his ass down every round. And who cares about old optic this is a new team now. Why are we talking about this yay guy who doesn't even know how to play duelist anymore because victor was his entry 24/7 last year. Make it make sense.
