yes but if you think like that you'd have to say that ''Premier league winners are the world champions'' - it doesn't make sense because premier league isn't an international league but a domestic one.

But that’s because there are leagues as good as the premier league. I would compare the NBA to the Champions league. As the champions league has the best teams and players but it only has European competition because UEFA. They play the best in the world but not the entire world participates so can we really say they are world champions?
