They play PUBG mostly , Very less people have high gamesetups like requires atleast setup to support 100fps , apart from one or 2 no special tournament for valorant.
PS: I don't know indian scene this is what I got to know from a friend

Cause they focus less on aim improvement and focus more on just relying on the day itself .

Venka is amazing tho , hope he makes it out of the trenches of Indian Valorant

they don't play the game, they don't love it, there's a joke in the indian scene where the players don't play ranked like ever because they get tired after 'scrims' , most players are cs rejects and are playing because of connections anyway, no talent building whatsoever

They still terrible at PUBGM/PUBG. Lets take a look at a few S-Tier tournament they played in international(before the game get banned in the country).

  1. 2018 PUBG Mobile Star Challenge
    India representative: Terrifying Esports(18th/20th)
  2. 2019 PUBG Mobile Club Open Spring
    India representative: Team SouL(12th/16th)
  3. 2019 PUBG Mobile Star Challenge
    India representative: GG(16th/16th), TEAM SPARK(13th/16th)
  4. 2019 PUBG Mobile Club Open Fall
India representative: SynerGE(10th/16th eliminated in prelims stage), Team SouL(12th/16th Grand Finals)
  5. 2019 PUBG Mobile Star Challange World Cup
India representative: Entity Gaming(11th/16th eliminated in global group)
  6. 2020 PUBG Mobile World League: East
India representative: GXR Celtz(14th/16th), MegaStars(10th/16th), TeamIND(9th/16th), Orange Rock(2nd/16th), TSM Entity(6th/16th), GodLike Esports(19th/20th eliminated in league stage), SynerGE(11th/16th). Imagine, having the most representative in the tournament, and still didnt win it 😭

And thats it, the end of Indian PUBGM pros scene in international tournament. They cant win any S-Tier international tournament, unlike China, Mongolia, Indonesia, Thailand and Russia.

If you talk about PUBG, they just got their first ever S-Tier international tournament slot after replacing Indonesia in 2023 PUBG Nations Cup.

1) Playerbase in pubg and free fire
2) Most valorant players in india dont get 3 digit fps , after plat - diamond it just becomes too hard
3) Pubg and free fire came back so i think orgs will focus more on those gams

Not a big talent pool. Most indians still believe in traditional careers rather than going into sports, let alone esports. While peeps like forsaken and jingg have been playing PC games since they were literally a child, most Indians need to "earn" their gaming setups. Most Indian parents would rather prefer spending money on coaching classes for exams rather than spending quater of that to buy their children a PC to play games.

SEA teams are also not interested in scrmming against Indian teams because of ping and nothing good to offer. South Asia had 1 slot in qualifiers, which was too less honestly. It's similar to how the Malaysian teams are just dominated by singapore when clubbed together, or how OCE never got a proper chance of representation.

It's just not feasible. That kind of money is just not there yet. Japan, Singapore and S korea are one of the costliest countries in the world. Moreover, why would a Korean/SEA team scrim when they get nothing in return?

why would a Korean/SEA team scrim when they get nothing in return?

if so why would champions team scrimming against GC team?

that's just dumb logic

if I'm not wrong then entity has bootcamped there indian cs roster in eu which probably helped them alot considering the fact they are still stealing paychecks another reason why entity is best Indian org 🗿(not sure about this info tho I can be wrong)

Although some of it is true regarding not enough PCs for the regular kids, even after getting into orgs with decent setup, the players dont grind enough to improve. They just take the paycheck to flex on social media & attend events. Because, they dont inherently rate esports enough to grind over, they would rather grind for a 9-5 job and our society is even at a stage that they would respect a guy earning pennies doing a "traditional" job than someone earning half a million playing games. We're still not there to accept these things which causes a huge chain reaction to other things.

India is a much poorer country than China.. so there could be some prodigy but he's doing labour work all day to help provide for his family

not many people can afford PC to play valorant 24/7 at a young age. And most parents don't really see a future in pursuing a career in video games, hence even less people will be playing enough to reach high ranks to even know if they are good enough.

Esports is not very attractive in India, for both players and orgs. Games are considered bad/useless by most of the adult population.
