EMEA 1 team region for real tomorrow
FUT x FNC it's tough :'(
yeah but it's as chronicle put it, that's true for every region
na - eg
sa - loud
pacific - prx
emea - fnatic
when competition is as fierce as it is that kind of thing becomes an inevitability and considering the alternative is the scene becomes dominated by one region only, which is so much worse, this is probably preferable atp
and tbh to say every other emea team sucks isn't all that true
fut looked pretty solid against eg despite the 2-0
navi performed quite well in their group and really just had a tough group to deal with that they BARELY dropped on all 4 maps they lost
giants probably overperformed expectations(at least mine)
and liqmid are unsurprisingly dogshit!
basically yeah emea is a one team region but a lot of people are overreacting(purely for banters sake which i respect) when it comes to the level of the other teams
and every other region is just like emea so meh this isn't unique, nor is it news
me when i forget about drx
yeah drx are kinda balling but i still maintain that prx is still fundamentally a level above them right now
i'm so down to eat my words if they make a losers run but considering fnatic will be waiting for them if they lose to eg(which they should in theory, but i said that about them against loud) i dont have high hopes for it
and yeah if you group the americas together they're a two team region but imo there isnt a large gap rn between tier 1 na and tier 2 na teams(especially the top ones like m80, mxm), and i think the story is similar with sa in that regard
so the point of na and sa only having 5 spots therefore not being their own region is kind of ehhh in my mind especially since the guard will almost certainly fit right in with the rest of the teams in americas
Don’t know why you’re getting downfragged. I think all three regions rn are 2-team regions.
Americas: Loud and EG
EMEA: FNC and Navi (I know Navi gets clowned on a lot but if you look at how close they took Loud and DRX it’s not unreasonable to say that they’re still a strong team).
Pacific: DRX and PRX,
This is just a symptom of a competitive environment where the top teams are so much better than the rest, but are competitive enough with each other to be able to take maps and games off of each other. People talk shit about Liquid and FUT for EMEA but then forget how tragic NRG and KRU looked this tournament.
100% agree this is an inevitability of any competitive scene
there literally have to be good teams and bad teams
also couldnt agree more with the navi point the margins between win and loss in those group stage matches were razor thin
the fact that the strength of teams are spread throughout regions is a good thing, not a bad one, and we need to stop pretending otherwise
plenty of esports scenes have seen the congregation of skill become limited to one region(league of legends) which is so much worse than what we have now
it creates a much more engaging worldwide scene, it brings in more money to help sustain the scene, and it brings better viewership which is all great for growing the game
