Sounds like the difference between this year and last year's call of duty tbh
To be fair kind of impossible to make a sequel for these kind of games. Especially games as old as csgo and overwatch that came right before the games as a live service model. If you change to much you lose your cult fan base, you keep the core of the game the same and your 'new release' is basically a major update (which to be fair is what most game releases used to be)
Anytime a game makes a "2" version, thats how you know they're desperate & threatened by other games. The gambling addicts over there on CS2 will never accept that its an underwhelming update due to the money invested.
