How does Ascension work?

If the winning team only gets franchised for one year does that mean they won't be able to qualify for the next year. And does it mean an existing franchised team will be replaced?

They get franchised for 2 years and no already franchised teams are kicked out the number of teams just increases

Are you sure about the 2 years thing it says 2024-2025? And my question is what happens after that do they get dropped or is there a way for them to stay?

is franchise league will be better if the last ranked team got degradation istead the one from ascension? i mean theyre shit so why riot keep them?

because that's what a franchise league do, Riot make a deal with these teams to play in the league, teams will get financial security due to their teams will always play in the tier 1 level no matter how bad their actual team is while Riot gets the clout, the impression, and the viewers that these orgs bring

but do you think riot got clout if the team is super shit? as example RRQ Indonesia b4 franchising, rrq is a big org in indonesia but least people support them bcuz theyre so shit back then

well that's up to riot to decide, IIRC Riot can kick an org whenever an org do stuff that riot didn't like, they held all the power here

i hope they add relegation when the league is more stable. I think they just want to make sure everything is stable for T1, but they need to make T2 thrive and keep the relegation teams playing in ascension aswell.

Basically 1 team per region ascends every year and after 2 years get's out this stays this way until 2026

Starting 2026 2 teams start ascending having a total of 14 teams per region by 2028 (no plans for after 2028)

nope there's still gonna be ascension every year, so in 2024 there's gonna be 11 teams and in 2025 there's gonna be 12 teams, and then in 2026 that year the ascension tournament gonna send TWO teams to the league, so it'll be 14 teams there

Here is the explanation my friend. Hope it’s clear enough

2023: 1 team ascends (11 team league)
2024: 1 team ascends (12 team league)
2025: 2 team ascend, 2023 team is relegated (13 team league)
2026: 2 team ascend, 2024 team is relegated (14 team league)
2027 and on: 2 teams ascend and the 2 teams that ascended 2 years ago (2025) are relegated (14 team league forever)

10 Current franchised teams do NOT descend, only reason to be kicked out is if Riot manually decides to. So basically every 4 years, Riot has the right to kick any org and replace it with someone else (Most likely teams that ascended during those 4 years and perform well will be highly considerated by Riot to replace current orgs who don’t perform)

Yes 2 years and then must go back to VCL, and compete to Ascend again.

There is a possibility tho, if those 2 years match with the 4 year contract cicle Riot has they can choose to replace a permanent franchised team with an ascended team

Yes. Franchised orgs have a 4 year contract, nothing any further than that is guaranteed for them. The slot is Riot’s not theirs, therefore, if Riot is not satisfied with what they have brought into the league those 4 years they can replace them with someone else

They should also increases the slots for each region for Masters and champions. Since we are getting more team added to Franchise
