Yes the level of competition has gotten better. But results wise, new Liquid are still yet to perform old liquid who also Won EMEA, then in international tournies went 4th, 4th, 8th, 8th.
New liquid are 5th/6th in their first international after a positive domestic showing. Not impressive with such a high player caliber on that team.
Both iterations lost 2-1 to the Optic/NRG core. In somewhat similar fashion.
I see what you're saying. But there is little significance in outperforming NA #1 seed, to then lose to their 2nd and 3rd .
We already know that matchups in Valorant are not as simple as 1+1=2. Liquid might have lost to loud, of course there's no way of knowing.
Also, they didn't outperform apac #1. Paper rex had a deep run.
NA didnt do so "bad". Only team that disappointed were Loud. EG were the team no one expected and played world calss valorant and cannot say much of NRG, they also played very well and could have taken PRX, was a very, very close match. The only game NRG didnt stand a chance was agaisnt fnatic.
EMEA was way worst, but thats what everyone expected really since the beggining of the year. We would expect just 2 EMEA teams to do something in international events, although everyone expect NAVI instead of Liquid, but i think thats due their own mistake of always changing roles.
well, i dont agree with this franchise system and the amercias being all one, it gives NA less chance with good quality teams specially in the challengers, there are really good teams there, that could compete against frachised teams. Although having all those teams together, makes the americas's matches much more entertaining for sure.
While EMEA is really 2/3 teams just completly on another lvl from everyone else and thats not really fun tbh
