Present in the competitive scene for over two years, icy made constant appearances within the Tier 2 scene under notable teams such as Cosmic Divide Cosmic Divide Inactive ChurmZ Corey Koch Tkaz Tyler Kazmierczak renz Austin Dickman tokyo Sebastien Lima syfi Samir Karimov and Moon Raccoons Moon Raccoons Inactive icy Jacob Lange tech ZK Timothy Ly , often competing in Knights and NSG tournaments and even attempting to power through the 2023 VCL open qualifiers, although to no avail. After spending some time with 99 Strength 99 Strength Inactive tyfoon sharky Mike Gariti in their brief T2 dominance, icy shortly stood in for YFP YFP North America Rank #10 jakee Jake Anderson stellar Brenden McGrath penny Erik Penny thief Brady Dever fiziq Lucas Blow before signing with the Evil Geniuses.

After announcing seven of 10 players back in November, EG slowly began signing enough players and staff to form a main and reserve roster in hopes of flourishing within the VCT Americas League. Following the addition of two new coaches as well as future star player Max "Demon1" Mazanov and Kyle "ScrewFace" Jensen, EG's roster was all but complete; still missing one player to round out the reserve team.

Ensuing over a month of radio silence from EG, icy announced on Twitter that he had officially joined as the team's 10th man following some time spent practicing with the rest of the team ahead of Masters: Tokyo.

Although icy has not flown out to Japan with the rest of the team, it seems the practice spent has paid off, as EG have yet to drop a map to anyone during their stay at Masters.
