You're telling me you could replace Yay with any random on NV/OpTic and he would've performed the same?
Why did Envy drop Kaboose then?
Yay's mechanical skill is world-class, and his way of taking engagements is so incredibly methodical, but it's not able to 1v5 unless the team he's playing with is methodical in the way they take map control.
His primary value is his ability to anchor parts of the map that have been claimed by his team, and almost certainly killing anyone that tries to challenge it.
He's a player that requires a very specific team structure to perform well. If he trusts the calls, and has enough confidence to fully concentrate on what he's doing, he will own. I was really hoping that would be the case for DSG with steel, but it seems like there are some internal issues with people questioning steel's calls, steel's calls not being that good sometimes which only leads to less confidence when executing his plans, and his teammates being a lot less experienced as team players.
He's still the same yay, just stuck in the tournament equivelant of Elo hell and facing confidence issues because of his recent performances
