Whats the point of winning the split 1 when you get to ascension by winning split 2?

To give the teams another chance? What's the point of having two masters or LCQ, just repeat champions with the teams in Masters 💀
Also, for example in North America, the ascension playoffs will be dependant of the points scored from split 1 and 2. So the teams with the most points from both split will go to playoffs, then from playoffs to ascension.
