Lowkey the extra slots ruined EMEA. All the best players are on diff teams (except the acc good EMEA teams like NAVI) so you get hella mid and bad teams instead that just get wiped by handpicked Americas and APAC teams

If we were to take a world where there were tiers of x amount of players and each tier had the exact same skilled players in place of ours (just getting rid of variance), then any region with a higher amount of teams would be worse because their amount of players in higher tiers would be separated at a higher proportion and all the teams would be a lower level of skill than teams from other regions. From that its pretty clear that if there were only 5 slots then EMEA would have stronger teams than they currently have because all of the best players will be on the same team
Top 50 EMEA + 10 teams = avg team member is top25 in EMEA
Top 50 EMEA + 5 teams = Top 25 EMEA picked and avg team member is top13 EMEA.
Better avg player is = better team no?
ok put the top 5 of the EMEA ranked ladder players on a team to prove your theory
I guarantee they lose to all 32 teams here on every map
NAVI is the best team EMEA could possibly put together and they aren't making playoffs lol
