Hello india!
ORG OVERVIEW
-Global Esports is an Indian esports organization that was founded in 2017.
-They first entered esports with an Overwatch team, and later acquired teams in Fortnite, R6, CSGO, PUBG, and more
-Currently they host 9 rosters and have won over 40 titles as an organization across their many different divisions. They most recently entered VALORANT in 2020.
ROSTER HISTORY
-GE entered Valorant by picking up GodSquad in September 2020, just ahead of the SA ignition series wrapping up. The roster initially consisted of
-HellRangeR
-helfff
-Kappa
-skillZ
-SkRossi
-Shortly after being picked up by GE, helfff would leave the roster and be replaced by DEATHMAKER on a stand-in basis. LightningFast would replace him a month later.
-At the start of 2021, SA did not have a direct path into the VCT circuit. GE spent much of the first half of 2021 playing in various TEC and ESPL tournaments, and winning almost every tournament they entered
-In july 2021, Riot announced the VCC, which was a SA-only tournament that would grant the winner a slot in the APAC LCQ. This was also the first VCT affiliated tournament introduced in 2021 to the region
-GE would lose in the grand finals of the first qualifier to Velocity Gaming. They would return in qualifier 2, dropping only 1 map in the process and winning the second qualifier
-At the VCC Championship, they would be sent to the lower bracket by Velocity Gaming, but clawed their way to a rematch in the grand finals that would go to all 5 maps
-GE would win the final map after being down 3-9 at the half, and would now attend the APAC LCQ as South Asia’s sole representative
-They would win their opener at LCQ against Damwon gaming, before moving into a match against a red hot PRX, who would 13-0 them to send them to the lower bracket
-In the lower bracket they faced F4Q, who would eliminate them from the LCQ and end GE’s chances at Champions.
-In 2022 a similar format was ran with the Valorant Conquerors Championship, but this year they would fall in 2nd place to Velocity Gaming. However, due to the format change, they still qualified for APAC challengers playoffs, specifically the play-in stage
-GE would qualify as the 2nd place seed in the first split, and the 1st place seed in the second split. Both times they would suffer immediate losses in the play-in stage, ending their tournament run very early
-Throughout the offseason(s), GE have continued to play matches in TEC tournaments, getting many reps in across multiple events, including the GXR India invitational
