Tbh, it doesn't really matter if the players used to play duelist or not. Mako used to be a duelist main before joining VS (DRX) and professional players who've got an insane amount of practice should be able to master it quickly. The only thing that should be worried is how carpe would do for T1 since he was not a valorant pro

to be honest, I feel like these days every single pro on earth is a flex player lmao. I don't think roles are gonna be that important in the future

exactly. the only real different role that a player can have would be sniping, or duelists who can be unpredictable like cned, forsaken, foxy9, etc

You mean fns hiko steel can play jett neon raze as good as tenz, derke, alfajer ? Every role need diff kind of individual ability. And if you build a team all cracked aimers, that team will lack of exp to give mid round calls

well I don't mean that roles are gonna be completely gone in the future, it's just that stuff like "oh this guy is a initiator" or "this guy is a sentinel main" are gonna be irrelevant in the future. it's prolly gonna boiled down to just two roles: support player and entry players. support players gonna be flex players and one of them are gonna be the main caller. and then the entries gonna consist of obviously duelist players, and if they're a secondary entry and not playing a duelist they probably gonna play an agent that are 'easy' to play that doesn't need that much coordination of the other member on the team. like sage, chamber, etc. stuff like each player only gonna play a certain 'role' are not gonna be that much popular in the future

roles in pro val is not really "initiator", "duelist" etc. its more like entry, anchor, op, etc. the game's official roles are not literally used
