over 100 million residents and still:

not a singular player in a tier 1 team (except niesow OMEGALUL)
best vrl dach teams have only 1 player from dach (exception CGN with 2)
top 3 of the regular split (CGN, mouz, DSYRE) in lower bracket of playoffs, mouz already out
no dach player in vrls other than evolution

BIG was arguably the best dach team but they disbanded and were never on tier 1 level (1:9 in challengers)
how can such a big and wealthy subregion not produce any great player?

Good question. Same goes for India, Turkey, Pakistan, basically any country in Asia. India has a population of 1.300.000.000 and the best they have to offer is SkRossi (not a bad player but pretty mid for the expectations you couldve)
