People are speculating about who the franchising teams are gonna sign, but my question is do you guys really think teams are gonna actually incorporate it? Like what's really stopping them from putting a random mortal player as sixth and just keep playing like they were, if they didn't think 6th players were a good idea this year why would they think they are for next year. Also which decent player is gonna wast his career if he is not guaranteed to actually play?

there’s a minimum salary requirement, so if you have to pick a sixth player you might as well choose someone who is worth at least that much in case you ever have to use them (due to another player’s prolonged injury/sickness maybe)

But that's my question, what actually good player is gonna accept to seat bench until someone gets injured, plus you might not even play the role he does I feel like if that happens you're fucked anyway. Plus to what point does putting you idk analyst as sixth work?

on a serious note, 6th players are needed in case of an emergency situation for a team. since regional play will turn into a regular season, the schedule needs to work, postponing matches will be incredibly difficult
