Stupid question

Why are some teams disbanding, when there is a challengers tournament for a chance to make it? Thank you.

Because their players want to get signed by already franchised orgs

Some teams decided to disband before the announcement of Challengers was made. Sad that they had to pull their roster while the plan was prepared. Hopefully some of them come back.

no one wants to play in challengers if you could play in franchised orgs

The players who have even the slightest chance to make it to a franchised team (since like everyone and their mother will be making roster changes) rather take that chance. Those who end up not making it will then form teams for T2 aka Challengers.
