KOI buys into Rogue and forms a joint partnership

KOI and Rogue will be merged bringing Rogue's management and KOI's fan base forming a very amicable and mutually-beneficial partnership that finally brings KOI into the LEC.

KCorp was offered the same agreement but denied and want their own team and management in the LEC.

KOI and Rogue are both heavily favoured to join Valorant franchising so it's very surprising but also extremely cool for KOI fans who are the biggest in Spain.

Even if they don't get in which would be stupid from Riot, they can do the same thing they did in the LEC and join up with Rogue in Valorant.

Why I feel like franchising will completely fuck EMEA. Like KOI likely trying to build mostly Spanish team that will suck ass anyway and take spot from tier 1. Same with Vitality having to keep at least 1 French player etc. Will just make teams worse just so they are more marketable for certain area.

I have no clue why you feel like franchising will fuck EMEA, the only reason I can think of is cause you have no clue yourself pf what you're saying. KOI has not had a Spanish player for their 75% of their time in Valorant, they chose to fill their regional spot with starkk, a Portuguese player, so no, KOI wants to win not to put 5 Spanish content creators on the team or something dude

Maybe, but I'm telling you first year will be filled with mediocre teams that were only built to gather fanbase. Like the rumors of KOI wanting to sign Mixwell, Koldamenta and Lucas Rojo. Just rumors and may be complete false, but I doubt it. Same with team like Vitality likely wanting to keep at least 1 French even if that lowered the skill cap. They sign mediocre players just because of nationality while actual good talent gets swiped to tier 2. This is especially the case in EMEA because Riot wants that different teams/orgs represent different area and countries in Europe.

First of all the KOI thing was obviously bait, nobody is preparing rosters yet, it wouldn't make sense at all since the season is not over and some Champs player might end up free. Second of all Koldamenta, it's a top 3 IGL's EMEA, and I'm actually talking about real IGL's not Scream or Nukkye. And mixwell might not have the firepower for a top tier team but is definitely enough for the league dude, experience has value. If you think he is not a top 100 players in the region you're delusional

And third of all ofc orgs are gonna want to have players from their countries but never if that means lowering their level. And no this not only affects EMEA, Jp orgs gonna need Jp players, same with Korea and every Asia country, same with Br and same with LATAM

I mean Russia had it's own league with spot to champs and everything in LOL, they just closed it because of the war
