I know, I know, everyone and their mother has already posted their take on how to fix Chamber. I'm not posting this because I think my ideas are objectively better, but because I'm curious how the VLR community thinks these changes would affect the meta, and if they would make Chamber more or less annoying.
Rendezvous (E) - I think 30s is an alright amount of time, but I think the range should have been kept at 21m for reasons that will be explained further down this post.
tl;dr -> 20s cooldown -> 30s cooldown
21m range -> 21m range
Headhunter (Q) - In its current state of 100 per bullet for 8 bullets, pound for pound it is effectively better than a Jett ult. Don't even try to argue that right-click exists, that mechanic is more inaccurate than my ability to headshot with a Marshal. 150 for 8 bullets seems fine until you consider that in order for a Chamber to have 8 bullets they spend 1200 credits, which is more than most agents' entire kits! From an economy standpoint, I would have preferred 100 per bullet for a maximum of 4 as it brings his economy on par with other agents. 4 bullets may seem insane, but it prevents a Chamber from acing the enemy with Headhunter bullets alone. I would also like to point out here that Reyna only getting access to two orbs seemed insane at the time, but it makes perfect sense now. Similarly, 4 bullets in my opinion is more than enough to get value, and causes you to value individual bullets more.
tl;dr -> 100 per bullet -> 100 per bullet
8 bullets -> 4 bullets
Trademark (C) - A lot of people complain that Chamber is this weird Duelist/Sentinel hybrid, so why don't we make him more like a Sentinel? The point of one is to lock down sites, so my idea is to give him back his second Trademark, but make the Trademarks have a maximum range, similar to Killjoy. This seems more than fair to me given how powerful they are at stopping pushes. Another consequence is that it puts a price on using Rendezvous: if the Chamber TPs off site for free, they more than likely lose access to one or more Trademarks, which is why I think that the current 21m radius is okay. This hence motivates Chambers to be better at locking down their site instead of TPing away at the first site of danger.
tl;dr -> 1 trademark -> 2 trademarks
give trademarks a maximum range, like kj
Tour De Force (X) - Tour De Force is kind of busted right now. Let's make it more skillful(?). You know the Golden Gun from Spike Rush? Similar concept. Chamber gets 2 bullets in the Tour De Force total, but gets a bullet back for a kill. This incentivizes actual skill and aim as opposed to spamming Tour De Force bullets through a smoke and destroying an entire push if a stray bullet connects. I am pretty ambivalent on the duration of slows, lmk if you think the duration should be 9s, 6.5s, or something else entirely with this system.
tl;dr -> 5 bullets -> 2 bullets
get one bullet back per kill, like golden gun
could not care less about slow duration, lmk
