T1 T1 Korea Rank #2 stax Kim Gu-taek (김구택) Meteor Kim Tae-oh (김태오) Sylvan Go Young-sup (고영섭) BuZz Yu Byeong-cheol (유병철) iZu Ham Woo-ju (함우주) have signed David "dd8" Denis as the team's head coach. He previously worked as a performance coach with the TSM organization, including with their Valorant roster.
Denis is a psychology trainer who began his esports career in 2016 working with Cloud9 in League of Legends and CS:GO. He was with them for three years before joining TSM to work with them in League of Legends and Valorant and was with the team during their second place run in First Strike: North America.
He announced just yesterday that he would no longer be working with TSM and would be announcing his next role soon. That role is his new position as T1's head coach.
T1 competed in the first qualifier of Valorant Challengers without a head coach after the team parted ways with long-time coach Daniel "fRoD" Montaner earlier this month.
Denis says on his website that he was "involved in the assessment, scouting, and development" of players on his previous teams. His website also highlights his past work in building culture on teams.
He and the team will have some time to work together before their next Valorant Champions Tour entry. The team fell short of qualifying for this weekend's first Challengers main event and thus will not play.
