Why does this need to happen? 2 reasons

• you skip groups stage. very big advantage (you gain 2-3 matches of prep over the other team.) example PRX and Fnatic (please no hate,i know PRX is an amazing team)

• some could argue, you get lan experience and "get into the groove of things" before the playoff teams. imo everyone should be playing the same amount, and at the same time to reduce deviations. example, LEVIATAN, FNATIC(alfajer needed time to adjust), OPTIC(they were on fire. 100% focus vs first lan game for XSET)

How to fix?

1. remove seeding games (no seed needed)
   • there should only be qualifying games, and no Grand final should be played e.g. OPTIC vs XSET, FNATIC vs FPX. there will just be XSET vs FAZE to decide who goes to LAN
2. create 2 groups of 6, or 1 big group of 12 (someone can help me on this step please)
   • top 4/6 OR top 8/12 qualify for playoffs stage WITHOUT A LOWER BRACKET
   • this reduces the likeliness of difficult groups, and is lenient enough for every good team to qualify(like loud), therefore the playoffs is MUCH harder and less time consuming.
   • the playoffs will start with top 1a vs bottom 4b and so on.

edit: after franchising hopefully there will be at least 16 teams participating so 4 groups of 4 would be completely fine

If u have 16 teams it could be possible 4 groups of 4 teams or 2 of 8 (it would be fire, but for now it's better 12, since Valorant competitive is still improving).

its a good take, but if there are two big groups would you make it triple elimination, and how would you reduce the risk of consistent rematches in playoffs from groups? Just a question. Imo this is much more feasable after franchise where you can set up longer group stages since league play will be suspended.

A good idea, but perhaps 2 big groups of 6 could reduce the chance of a fairy tale run. I think 4 groups of 4 is a good idea (not that it matters now franchising is coming into play), and give each region at least 2 slots. That would increase competitiveness and it would leave playoffs with interesting matchups, instead of having matches that we already saw in groups

W. 1 thing tho. rn there are a total of 24 series in copenhagen including groups and playoffs, With that format for groups with all 12 teams in 1 group and 4 qualing out with playoffs having no lb, there would be a total of 69 games (serious). too much production costs. rather have 3 groups with 2 out of each group. 6 in playoffs with a playoffs format just like the emea playoffs stage 1 and 2 2022 format

12 teams means you have to do round robin of sorts in your suggested format, but since that takes too much time, 16 teams of 4 groups makes more sense

They should have just had the 4 auto-seeded teams play a mini group for playoff seeding. They wouldn't be elimination games (which is kind of unfair, but whatever), but they would still get some practice, and set up storylines for later in the tournament.
