They were in total control on their defense and built a monumental 10-1 lead.
Winning the final round of the first half and two more in the second half helped Guild increase their round count to four, but three more FPX rounds wrapped up the first map with a 13-4 score in favor of the CIS squad.
Shao clutched up by masking the sound of the door with his ultimate.Guild got off to a strong start of their own on the second map, taking the first four rounds of Haven. The rest of the half was heavily contested, and both teams traded rounds back and forth to eventually end at a 7-5 score in favor of Guild.
A crucial pair of rounds to start off the second half extended Guild's lead to four. However, this lead swiftly evaporated when FPX put on a clinic to win seven rounds in a row, bringing themselves all the way to match point. Guild managed to find two more rounds, but FPX completed their comeback in round 24, taking a 2-0 series lead with a 13-11 Haven victory.
Haven was a nail-biting map through and through.Back on their own map pick, FPX asserted dominance on Split by winning the first six rounds. Guild stabilized near the end of the half, but they were still facing a deficit of 8-4 come halftime. This deficit would prove to be one Guild could not overcome, as FPX went undefeated on their defensive half to close out their second 13-4 of the day.
A pivotal matchup in the series was the opposing Operators of ardiis and Sayf. The Latvian came out on top of this duel, racking up 15 Op kills to Sayf's eight. Notably, each member of FPX clocked at least one clutch during the match, demonstrating their collective effort to close out the series.
