like dude you literally play val for a living why would you say shit like val takes no skill and stuff
Because the game is dying and riot needs some valid criticism but everybody here is too much of a pussy to speak up about it. Evrybody wants to live in a fake reality of valorant being "a top esport" simply because it's their first ever competitive experience and god forbid somebody diminishes their experience.
The average amount of people that play CSGO on average as of January 2022 is 504,000 people. Valorant averages 1,474,361 people per day as of this month. Valorant viewership is constantly above CS as of rn the viewership for CS on twitch is 30k but Valorant is 190k you’re argument is biased and filled with no information.
This 10yo vs 1yo would've only worked as an agument if valorant was showing signs of growth instead of a downwards trajectory. Because within 1year the viewership has lowered drastically so idk how in this argument the viewership will be better in 10 years, when it couldn't last 1.
Wow valorant has a casual viewerbase who watch casual streamers just like every new game? Amazing. Definitely something that is sustainable for decades unlike esports.
How's is it dying??...I just wanna know...how do u came to that conclusion.... it's way more relevant in a lot of places outside of Europe where CS is hardly a thing and the LAN events in those regions are extravagant. Japan literally had around 300k viewers all over Twitch for a Zeta Playoffs match(not even LAN) and the Blast Premier finals had around 500-600k...which had the most popular team of CS(NAVI) winning. A Sentinels match in the finals can pull in more numbers than that and that team is fucking ded lol. ESL is hardly anything...Blast can't pull massive numbers and all u have to talk about is Majors while Valorant Masters and Champions except Masters 3(850)) have constantly brought in 1M+ viewers. Just tell me how is it dying?
playerbase + viewership are at an all time low and have a downwards trajectory every if you exclude champions (but only in comparison to masters2 but in comparison to masters1 it still had less viewership)
other places outside of europe literally don't matter one single bit in the grand scheme of Tactical shooters. CIS, EU and Brazil single handedly have more TacFPS fans than all of the rest of the world combined, times 3.
Blast premier is not even a major and Zeta is like the most popular team in the world alongside BBL and Sentinels?
Sentinels as I said previously are very popular content creators. And that's where this game lacks. If you don't have big streamer personalities in the playoffs it all goes to shit. If you don;t have the hype of the new game, it all goes to shit. Nothing is built to last in this esport. It's all zoomer content hype, nothing else of actual substance. It is DOOMED to fail. Hell, after shroud left the total viewership decreased by 25%!!!!
Riot don't care about the integrity of competition and they prove that constantly with their garbage formats (either killing competition by forcing them to play 10 officials per QUARTER), or with their shitty franchising where good teams will be left out because of being a part of a poor org. Franchising in general just makes up for no integrity.
THEN, you also have their game devs ALWAYS pandering to casual players, pumping out untested content CONSTANTLY not caring about the effects it will have on the meta, destabilising teams constantly.
This game is becoming dogshit by the minute. Be it the updates, or the esports management.
I dunno about u...but I'm 100% that whatever u said isn't gonna happen and the scene will just develop from now on...LOL is franchised and is the biggest eSport in the world with a thriving causal and eSport scene due to Riot's way of rapid expansion... Valorant is 2 years old and yet it gets decent numbers still and people have been saying Val will die since 2021. I'm pretty sure a Game Company that controls one of the most popular and profitable game franchise and eSport of the world knows how to handle their product better than u...yes Riot has a lot of scum ways to make pounds of money by pandering to casual audience but that doesn't really prove anything that eSports scene will die just because of this. CS killed the LAN hype as they have 500 LANs in a year and even most CS pros think that they should decrease the amount of LAN tournaments as travelling all year is also not possible and while 3 LANs a year feels less...it makes the Masters and Champions a spectacle to watch
while very harsh i agree with some points you make, the whole "Zoomer Content Hype" you mention is something I feel very strongly in Valorant, which gives me bad feelings, people seem to care mostly about the big content creators and not the scene as a whole, although i think this is riot fault for giving us so little official matches, the fact that most teams spend the better part of the year not polaying in officials is incredibly stupid and makes the scene boring and inconsistent.
Why cant people enjoy both like me. Also, every CS fan who hates valo has something in common I've noticed. CS is one-dimensional, you can cover most angles while going through the map individually. This isn't the same in valo, you get hit from any angle which I think riles them up. They also seethe about abilities making fights uneven, because they've spent time practicing aim through shooters but valo is a completely different beast bringing abilities into the mix. "Just" aim isnt enough now, they have to spend time learning abilities which causes even more seethe. They just hate they're on the same level as someone who practiced ability spam when they've spent more time improving their aim.
