idk sometimes it gets confusing in my household bc im indian living in america, if someone says football i have no idea which one they are talking about unless i hear like a name or something

So I just looked it up. Apparently "soccer" was coined by the British. And both soccer and football were essentially interchangeable in Britain until the 1980s. Then for some reason, Britain decided to stop using soccer in favor of football and in turn used soccer to refer to the American context of the sport AKA American soccer.

we have a different sport that we call football, so to differentiate, we use a different name

But in football(american) the players use their feet once for kicking the ball sometimes. Other than that they just catch the ball and run with it.

Therefore, the actual, objectively true & inofficial name for American Football is "Hand-Egg".
