Team with best overall results internationally?

Imo after optic won that masters they now have the best overall international results.

-First Masters 1 2022
-Second Masters 3 2021
-T-9th Champions 2021

Not many teams can compete with these results so far. The team that is the closest imo is Gambit:

-Second Champions 2021
-First Masters 3

I still think optic's results are better because the two masters wins cancel each other out, so the question comes down to is getting second at champions > getting second at masters AND 9th at champions? Imo you could make an argument for both, since champions is the big event to close the val season, but I think we should also give some credit for optic getting to more lans than gambit.

Is there any team that I missed?

gambit still better imo
finalist in champs > finalist in masters 3
masters 3 winners > masters 1 2022 winners

the group stage in champs for optic, if anything, plays against them imo

gambit still better imo
finalist in champs > finalist in masters 3
masters 3 winners > masters 1 2022 winners

Especially since Berlin was 16 teams and Masters 1 2022 only 12

good points but if we punish optic for disappointing at champs, then we need to also need to punish m3c for not making this masters even more

I forgot about this, did riot say they are sticking with the 12 team format for all masters from now?

KRU gets to every event for free so technically it should be them

if you mean real results, Gambit

I'd argue that against them but I feel like that goes against the question, that is "Team with best overall results internationally?" If were judging m3c's challengers performance which was online and regional then I feel like we'd have to analize their other challenger runs, masters 1, etc. and I feel like at that point we've derailed from talking about results internationally and more about which is the better team historically overall, and also get's a bit complicated because of emea's system and teams being different from NA's

I'd rather win a masters and not qualify to 1-2 LANs than qualify to every other one and my best result being a 3rd-4th.

they wouldnt say something like that, in case they wanna raise it in the future

masters 2 is gonna be 12 teams though

imo this just means they have the most dominance in their respective region, they don't dominate internationally

I still think Gambit are the best team to ever win it, when watching them at their peak it felt like no one can stop them
Though Optic are for sure great I never got that feeling from them

but not judging a team for not making it is pretty bad in this sense. That's like saying we shouldn't judge Sentinels for not making this Master's, and since they dominated the only one they went to, then they're the best results internationally, no?

Except they didnt dominate the only one they went to. They lost on first round of playoffs in masters 3 and got grouped at champs. Anyways, Im not saying you cant judge sentinels about them not reaching this lan, Im saying we shouldnt judge their international performances based on a regional qualification. Its like if we were trying to say who is the best player in international tournaments, and then bring up their challenger matches to judge them

yeah but they had the best run for one masters out of all the winners, ik optic has gotten to finals than sen jn 2021 more consistently but dropping no maps and winning js a more impressive run

Gambit is the most consistent team in Valorant so far.

Optic is a close 2nd

I think in terms of results its most definitely Optic, but the most consistent in terms of play and strats id most definitely say Gambit/M3C.

Gambit and OpTic definitely are the top dogs going by overall results over the international tournaments.

Over the course of all 4 events:

  1. Gambit/OpTic
  2. Gambit/OpTic
  3. Acend
  4. Sentinels

After that it's hard to say and really doesn't matter. Has to be one of Fnatic/Liquid most likely, perhaps even KRU.

I think that is highly debatable.

I agree that I think 2nd @ Champs + 1st at M3 is better than 2nd at M3 + 1st @ 2022 M1 , but OpTic has qualified for 1 more international event which makes up for that IMO.

I can tell u if there was no war bs gambit would be in masters, they couldn’t bootcamp due to russia ukriane playin fnc then g2 next day after without getting time to vod review them or fix their mistakes while g2 was in lower bracket watchin gambit play for an week

Optic is great but if u wanna go watch fnc vs gambit check it out it was pure strats only

Losing braincells with some of these comments...
Gambit: won Berlin
Gambit: 2nd in Champions
Optic: 2nd in berlin 3-0'd by gambit
Optic: won masters 1 2022, which gambit couldnt play there even if they destroyed every team.
Are there even a comparison lmao

if we look at all events including masters 1 2021 acend is actually most succesful team with 2 masters wins with 1 being champs.

I have watched Gambit vs Fnatic live as well as the VOD a second time, it was phenomenal. I love the Gambit team in general, and myself believe that they are a top 3 team in the world despite not qualifying for the tournament. I also acknowledge that there were certainly external factors at play hampering their performance in the playoffs of this stage. However, I don't think one can give Gambit a full pass for that without also acknowledging Victor's condition in Champions and how that potentially affected OpTic's play. At the end of the day, we are simply left with the results of these two phenomenal teams to work with, and I don't think they strictly favor Gambit when looking solely at international events. I think an argument can be made for either team.
