Serious question. Tgrd is not looking good and let's say optic got first seed instead of them. Do you guys think they make playoffs?

Optics group was actually pretty hard with liquid, kru(lowkey fell off) and xerxia. I think it's safe to say they lose to xerxia 2-0 like optic and go to lower. But do you guys think they win again kru? And if they do do they win the rematch against xerxia?

I'm asking because a lot of people are saying it would've been better for them to play in groups and get confidence. But would they have even made playoffs?

i think they make groups but as second seed and it would be very close.

Playing on LAN is a completely different feeling. This is why OPTIC looks more solid cause they are used to it already (and came from groups with a hard fought pass)

Maybe it’s just a first game thing, optic also looked awful on their first game

Besides, first match aint even over yet wait and see

Yes I genuinely think they do. I think the only teams that they could not defeat at first would be Xerxia, DRX, and maybe Liquid. And I think on a rematch they win all three of those.

Yeah I know that, that's why I'm asking if they even get to playoffs if they started in groups. They can win this series and I'll accept my loss but it seems that right now the guard are shaky af and mightve gone out in groups.

Bro exactly. They had ONE bad half. Now they're 9-6 with optic on an eco. This is definitely possible.

Literally. I'm not saying The Guard will win the map, but people are so quick to jump ship and call the guard a "bad team" just because they have some shaky rounds. It's the first match for many of these players on LAN, give them some time to heat up.

same, optic also had an incredibly defender sided comp so it makes sense they dominated them

You're telling they look good right now? Cause they don't. Trent looks nervous af, and the only one that seems comfortable is Saya. I've said before if they win the series or the map, or make it close then I'll accept me being reactionary. It is a problem but they currently don't look good and a large majority of people think that them being on groups would've been better. Which is what I'm asking. Do they make it out of groups had they started there.

You guys don't understand point. I know Lan takes time and I'm being reactionary af. I'm asking if them starting in groups would produce better results? A lot of people are saying that it would've been better for Lan experience and because of that claim I'm asking if they get out of groups had they started in groups.

ah, it's hard to tell. LANs are so unpredictable especially when it's a brand new team

Yeah I'm not hating on the guard I love that team. Saya is probably my favorite player NA. I'm just asking what the results would be had they started in groups. I have them winning this match in my pickems lol.

Like I said I think the only teams that they could not defeat at first would be Xerxia, DRX, and Liquid. And if they faced any of those at first, they'd win in lowers because they always come back better.

I'm not sure about this. I agree that they come back stronger but idk if they win the rematch against the teams you listed. The guard probably beat xerixa 2-1 but Idk about liquid and drx rematch. (Not that drx matters since not in their group). Hopefully they come back stronger and make a good lower bracket run. Pretty sure I have them in the lower bracket finals but they lose to loud.

But they would've played in group b like optic. Na teams would've switched places.

I had them in uppers until they lose to G2 then they come back and beat Loud + G2 again to win the whole thing. Maybe it's my copium but I have faith that they'll be a great team internationally, if not at this event, than in the future.

They would have done better if they played groups, saya has a TON of experience on lan (overwatch league had a 40 game season) with crowds but I don't think the rest of them have any experience. They would have had time to adjust and get their nerves under control, they are obviously very nervous.

100%, hoping they grow stronger.
