Going forward, gMd will be a restricted free agent while he pursues other opportunities. As an integral part of our original roster, we appreciate all you've done & wish you nothing but the best! 💛🖤
gMd was one of the members of the all-Canadian roster that rose to prominence in the early days of North American Valorant competition in 2020, consistently staying ranked within the top 10 teams for about a year and a half. However, the original roster was eventually phased out by other talents like Shawn "Shawn12590" O'Riley, Kenneth "koosta" Suen, and Nicholas "NaturE" Garrison to continue to be competitive in the North American Valorant scene.
By September 2021, gMd was the only remaining member of the original roster after Stage 3 Challengers 2, when Michael "MkaeL" De Luca was benched following a finish just short of the top-four qualification required to advance to the Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs. Following the announcement, gMd took to Twitter to say that the decision to remove him from the active roster was "a mutual decision that wasn't very easy for any side."
Gen.G's latest roster changes included the addition of Emir "rhyme" Muminovic from Europe and departure of Kenneth "koosta" Suen, who has returned to competing in CS:GO alongside Damian "daps" Steele. Following koosta's departure and the team's failure to qualify for the Stage 1 Challengers group stage, the team has competed in tournaments with various stand-ins, including Justin "Jerk" Milani, William "Will" Cheng, and Brady "thief" Dever. Their best finish was in the Spring 2022 BoomTV Proving Grounds $20k, where they took second place.
