Past Matches
"just like every other tournament" is generally not a solid argument for any statement. There is a reason why other tournaments have Bo3. Likewise, there is a reason why this tournament has Bo5.
Your argument is that it is too much, and I ask myself why? Usually, elimination tournaments have bo3 matches because teams play more than 1 matchups per day.
In this case, there is only 1 matchup per day. That's exactly why it's Bo5. The more maps a series has, the more precise we are determining which team deserves to qualify. 5 maps (at most) is definitely what you see on "bo3" tournaments daily.
