Russia is now banned from competing in the world cup. Is it possible that we soon see Russian players or even teams banned from competing in esports?

i don't think esports would punish russians directly, but i think they might be unable to LANs due to travel restrictions.

There will be no ban to russians, but maybe russian orgs. Also travel might be impossible, at the very least its looking like it will be exponentially more expensive, after all the air space closures.

In any case this war is super fucked up, the russian people always being fucked over, and killing their brothers in ukraine.... pray for their souls

The only way we don't see Russian orgs or teams in International events is if countries straight up deny visa to the players, which seem highly likely considering the sanctions being thrown left and right

If you talk about some topic in sports, you will hear 'Politics shouldn't conflict with sports'. But if it is Russia or China related, they won't even be able to compete in a tournament. If this doesn't show you how dumb and corrupt western world is, I dunno what does.
