LOUD and MIBR were the better team. Simple. It's about who performs on that day.
VCT trophies just have more value not to mention Americas teams get 1 week of less prep time.

Why exactly? Tell me valid reasons.
My reasons are: Huge prize pool, All international strong teams are present.
Prize pool? That's it? It just sportswashing with oil money then. And you can't just say 'strong teams' cause the argument itself is about EWC not mattering so London teams not trying hard enough, especially with limited prep time.
There's already an argument about Masters being equal to Champions cause of same level of competition. If you say Masters and EWC are similar then you could even say EWC and Champions are similar which sounds even more crazy. VCT Trophy is simply more prestigious and valuable. Whenever anyone says who won in 2025, the answer is T1, PRX and NRG. Not even Riot would mention TH.
What about teams which are capable of qualifying to EWC and London like GE etc. When they play on old patch which is same as Stage 1, why cant they qualify with same stuff used in Stage 1.
Of course, Riot wouldn't mention them; they aren't the ones hosting the event.

You really thought you did something there huh? NRG LEV and G2 have way less time to prep on new patch than teams from other regions. Also why are you focused on 'oil money' part instead of sportswashing?
il tell you the biggest reason. its the way you QUALIFY to the event that mostly makes it more mickey. teams that dropout in stage 1 or playoffs have way more time to practice for it then other teams. you think NRG and LEV are practicing for EWC right now and then fly to london and have only 4 days to practice for it??? they are practicing and putting the time into london. They TRY and win ofc but no prep time for it at all and they have the most footage out there. meanwhile the other teams all they have to worry about is EWC.

they are at a disadvantage i didnt say they can never win. its just a uphill battle for those teams. and NA is a week later so its more fucked for NA then APAC. i mean i will be watching EWC and i like that more middle of the pack teams have a higher chance of making something. its just not on the level of a masters. its still a good throphy win and ofc big moneeeeeeey
Agreed, I dont know why they cant keep qualifiers and main tournament after Champs, So that teams can fully focus on it.

EWC doesn’t contribute to the VCT season like Masters or Regionals do, if a team goes on a run in EWC, then chances are they can’t afford to deal with burnout because they’ll miss out on champions and won’t have enough points to salvage their season like FNATIC and Heretics did in 2025

Speaking about EWC 2025, its prize pool is barely larger than the 12 team Masters, except those are actually prestigious and rewards teams who make it. Not to mention the winner of these tournaments get their classic skin featured for a while which boosts sales and reputation
These are the best arguments, Now i agree Master>EWC. I think taking the VCT points and skin money, I think they make much more than EWC. Also the unstreamed qualifiers.

Ewc results don’t hold any weight. The tournament is about who wants it more, not who the better team is.

the teams who made london are going to prep for the event they've already qualified for, not one they have to qualify for. that's why nrg and lev didn't try new comps, they're not going to show shit in ewc quals when they fly to london in two days

Tbh LEV trolled by not losing to SEN spike needs as much time as possible to learn non-neon comps, they’re now gonna have LESS than a week
